Code Name: Tiranga Teaser out

Director Ribhu Dasgupta is back with a new movie, Code Name: Tiranga. He had teamed up again with actor Parineeti Chopra. The teaser of the movie was unveiled by T-Series on Thursday. The director-actor duo also previously collaborated on the Netflix “The Girl on the Train.” It was not well received by the audience and critics. These movies also mark the return of the espionage genre for Ribhu Dasgupta. He had previously directed the first season of the Netflix spy series “Bard of Blood.” The show is quietly abandoned by the streamer. It was the first title produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment in their first look deal with Netflix.

The movie also stars singer-actor Harry Sandhu, who made his Bollywood acting debut in the significant year released large-scale sports drama 83. He plays the role of the former cricketer Madan Lal who is fondly called Maddi Pa by Kapil Dev in the movie. This movie is described as the story of a spy on an unfaltering and fearless mission for her nation in a race against time where sacrifice is her only choice. The movie appears to be yet another attempt to jump on the patriotism bandwagon that Bollywood had recently enamored of late.

The teaser lasted around 45 seconds. Based on the teaser, the movie looks like an all-out action role for Parineeti. This will be her action flick. We also get to see glimpses of her involvement in a series of hand-to-hand combat scenes and later also wielding the gun. Harry is playing some sort of local contact in Afghanistan with whom she develops a relationship.

Parineeti already had three releases last year. The three releases are “The Girl on the Train,” “Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar,” and the Saina Nehwal biopicSaina.“ She would be next seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai, also starring Amitabh Bachchan.

Code Name: Tiranga also features Sharad Kelkar, Rajit Kapoor, Shishir Sharma, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The movie will be released in theatres on October 14.
